About

This site features excerpts from interviews with people who build and develop guitar-focused products. This project initially focused on pedal manufacturers and designers, but as the conversations progressed, the scope expanded.

The interviews focus largely on two things: how the company was built, and how the products are designed (with a focus on graphic design, marketing, packaging and the brand).

The conversations took place over several years and began in the early days of the COVID lockdowns. After conducting twelve interviews, the project was unfortunately sidelined due to health issues. I picked it back up at several points since, but life has presented challenges each time, and this has stalled the development of a book, as I had intended. After some consideration, I felt it would be best to start publishing a few interviews here and see how things go.

I still hope to gather the full interviews and finalise the book; it is 90% complete! In the meantime, if you would like to offer an interview or comments, please contact me.

Also, I would like to offer a huge and sincere thank you to Ross from the Leeds Pedal Show and David De los Santos for helping me proofread and structure the interviews.

Thank you for reading, Neil.
